You can help me decide whether the blues is an accurate paint color or whether the paint was not properly mixed?
So, remember my amazing PhotoShop mock-up of our entry hallway where I swapped out the lighting and painted the walls Restoration Hardware’s Pale Silver? Well, a few days later, it was fate and RH offered a 20% discount on your entire purchase. They must read my blog. Â So, I loaded up and bought two gallons of the Pale Silver, only having seen the paint swatch online {and very few photos of rooms that used the same color}.
While I was painting the living room and kitchen last weekend, I decided to paint a few coats of the pale silver on a sample wall to ensure I liked it. I swear it looks like neon baby blue. Â Now, I should back up a few steps. Â The paint arrived while we were at work, so it sat in the freezing cold for several hours. Â When I opened the gallon, something seemed off – the paint was lumpy at the bottom and runny at the top. Â I did my best to mix it but you know how hard that can be with a full gallon of paint.
Bottom line, I’m worried I got more pigment than paint, hence the bright blue. Keep in mind this is in the Silver Sage family line {the color I painted in our main bathroom in our last house}.

Now that your mind is saturated with photos of how the hue should look, here’s the best representation of how the color looks on my wall.
Does it look off to you? I feel like it is missing the grayish/greenish tone to subdue it a little. My husband immediately walked in the house the day I painted it and he asked ‘Why is that wall blue?’ I don’t want it to immediately read blue.
Is it because it’s next to the fleshy original paint color and/or our off-white trim? Should I still give it a shot and just keep trying to mix it better? Or paint a bigger sample area to have a better overall feel? Have you had experience with this color before? Am I crazy and it actually looks like the sample? I’ll stop asking questions now. But opinions are appreciated!

It looks absolutely blue to me. You should contact RH with your concerns- if they are any kind of honest, they will send you new paint for free…the customer is always right!
