Unfortunately, our house is like a sampling trainwreck right now – I only have one coat on the walls {where I have even painted}, I have random sections of trim started and I had my husband remove the sconces so we have open lighting holes. But, I’ll tell you one thing – whenever I see snippets of the painted trim I get a dorky grin on my face. It looks SO much better and it motivates me to get the rest of it completed. But I’ll probably just do it a room at a time from here on out, as I paint the walls and decorate each room.

New trim color: Swiss Coffee by Behr – the photo below from my Instagram feed shows the comparison between old and new {Antique White vs. Swiss Coffee}. I got it in the semi-gloss finish. I have two brush sizes {both by Purdy} and I will likely roll the doors based on what the girl at Home Depot told me but have to do more research on that. In regards to the trim, are you supposed to do two coats? I have read a few places that only recommend one, but my paint color difference here is pretty dramatic.
I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled on Thursday, but I’m hoping I will still feel up to painting more trim in the entryway by Friday. At the latest. 😉

The new color looks really good.

My suggestion….forgo the painting for the weekend and spend time healing. Tasha spent the whole first day sitting on the couch doing nothing. She slept upright and didn’t overdo. BTW..the paint looks nice!

We moved to VA years ago and bought a new home. The builder’s paint choice for all trim work was the most hideous, glaring bright white that I couldn’t stand it. Everytime I looked at that bright gloss white paint on the fireplace and trim I got a headache. It was so …….cheap looking. That’s it! It made everything look cheap. This paint was in all of this popular builder’s homes, too. I bought several samples of paint colors and settle on Behr’s Swiss Coffee. It took me some time, but I repainted every bit of trimwork, crown, doors, etc in that home to Swiss Coffee. It made the home so pleasant and inviting. When neighbors would visit they wouldn’t know what was different about our home, but almost every one of them thought it was the furniture or my decorating savviness (not). I know it was the paint color. I had comments from men that would say random things like, “Man, I don’t know what’s different in your home, but the light is perfect. I get a glare in my home. Do you have different windows?” It’s the paint. Swiss Coffee brings a subtle, classy look to everything. I’m a Realtor now and property manage some properties. The owners of one home are moving back after being gone for seven years. I’m having the entire house repainted for them. They asked me to chose the paint colors for them. (I had mentioned their home is looking dated.) Well, I can assure you, Swiss Coffee is my choice, too. You will love it. (I just built another new custom home and this is what is on my trim, too.)
