I showed you a sneak-peak of the dining room, but today we were able to get our wine glass racks hung on the wall as well. They really help to finish off the room! I tried to include different angles of this room, showing all four windows as well as the sliding doors {that lead to the back patio} and the courtyard {behind the wall with the wine glasses}. I present – our full dining room reveal!
I love how the wine racks turned out and the great deal we got on them! My husband loved the french cleat mounting system because he knows they are secure and it was a quick project to get these hung. This is definitely a darker and moodier room than I normally go for, but I think it is fun for the dining room. Â It is such a great feeling to already have one room completely finished in our new home!

I love the wine racks. I couldn’t find them in the Salt Lake stores. The room looks awesome.

That is beautiful. Can’t wait to see it in person.

Those wine racks are amazing! I’ll have to run to my local Costco – I’d love one in my kitchen : ) That mirror looks fabulous as well! I used an identical one from Z-Gallerie in a client’s foyer and it’s been one of my favorites since!

Saw you on Thrift Decor Chick- it looks so much better than the “before”! Very nice. I read once that the focal point of a dining room is the table because it’s in the very center of the room- I just thought it might be nice to add a statement centerpiece for fun? Something with height and pizzaz. Your home is beautiful and I love how you keep it looking uncluttered 🙂
Sarah S says
Hi Rebecca – I appreciate the feedback! I totally agree I need a ‘wow’ centerpiece. Once I felt like this room was ‘mostly’ finished I moved on to work on all our other rooms. Hopefully I’ll find something soon that can help truly finish this room!

Love that rug and I’m trying to decide on it for my dining area – do you have any trouble sliding your chairs on it?
Sarah S says
Thanks! I love the rug. Honestly, you sort of have to pick up the chairs lightly to move them. The texture is enough that it would prevent the legs from easily moving. No complaints on the rug though – it is much softer underfoot than I expected!

I absolutely love this this Slate color by Restoration Hardware. I just ordered a sample! I was just curious though, how many coats did you need to use and whether you needed primer as well? I’m looking forward to trying this out in my living room. I’ve searched high and low for the perfect grayish brownish paint. Any info would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!
Sarah S says
Thanks Tonia! I love their paint. I feel like it covers well. I did two coats {but did not use a primer}. If you have any other questions, please let me know!

Hi there! Great post and finished result, love it. My husband and I are really hoping Costco still carries that sweet wine glass rack; is there any more information you could possibly give me? Anything would be appreciated, so I know what to ask for when I contact them. Saw this via Pinterest, thank you!
Sarah S says
I believe it was Kirkland brand, but other than that I don’t have much other information. Sorry! I do know Pottery Barn carriers something that is very similar though.
Rambling Maz says
hi, where did you get the little plants in pots by the bar area?
Emily Bernard says
hi! love the room! i’m have been going back and forth on this same rug FOREVER for my dining area too . . . how easy is it to keep clean?? and do yall eat in there often? we use our dining room almost daily and w/ 5 kiddos . . . i’m trying to decide if im crazy for wanting a natural fiber rug under the table!! :O))
Solange says
are the drapes stationary? how did you hang them?? thanks!
Sarah S says
They were actually hung with cafe rods {the smaller diameter curtain rods}. They are an oil rubbed bronze color. I went with the smaller diameter since we don’t ever close the curtains {although these would allow for it} and they were much cheaper.
